Welding Specialist

Job Summary:

As a key member of the Martinrea International team, the Welding Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our products. This position requires a strong understanding of welding metallurgy, NDE techniques, and gas metal arc welding. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and resolving welding concerns, providing input to improve processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve quality and productivity goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform welding inspections and analyze weld data to ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Develop and implement welding parameters to support production and quality assurance
  • Conduct training sessions for production personnel on quality requirements and welding best practices
  • Participate in problem-solving activities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with the quality team to develop and implement quality control procedures
  • Support the development and implementation of new welding processes and technologies

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in welding technology or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in welding and quality assurance
  • Strong understanding of welding metallurgy, NDE techniques, and gas metal arc welding
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities

Working Conditions:

The Welding Specialist will work primarily on the plant floor, with occasional office work. The position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality and safety.
