Toptable Group is seeking a seasoned Restaurant Director to oversee the front-of-house operations at its award-winning Marilena Cafe & Raw Bar in Victoria, BC. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering exceptional service and driving business growth.

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year

As a Restaurant Director, you will work closely with Executive Chef Kristian Eligh to maintain the restaurant's high standards and continue its success in this vibrant market.

About the Role:

  • Oversee the execution of efficient restaurant operations, ensuring high production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards.
  • Maintain high-quality food, service, and hospitality, leading by example and fostering a culture of excellence within the team.
  • Identify gaps in guest satisfaction and implement corrective actions to continuously improve the guest experience.
  • Develop and monitor key operational metrics, including food and beverage quality control, profit and loss, inventory levels, labor costs, and product costs.
  • Drive restaurant growth and profitability through local marketing initiatives, optimizing operations, and enhancing guest spend.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, sanitation, and food safety standards, regularly auditing practices to maintain the highest standards of safety and cleanliness.
  • Maintain a clean and organized front and back of house along with staff, storage, and office areas.

Requirements:

  • An inspiring leader with proven skills in rallying a team to achieve its highest potential and drive it to the next level.
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in the food and beverage industry, with a minimum of 5 years in a management role in a similar environment.
  • Proven record of effective conflict resolution and service recovery.
  • Acute financial management skills.
  • Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish cooperative working relationships.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage in a diverse environment with a focus on guest service.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Serving It Right License.
  • Excellent professional presentation.
  • The ability to meet the physical demands of the job (mobility, standing, walking, lifting for the majority of the day).
