Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at Delcato Inc.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in the culinary industry, with a strong focus on quality, customer satisfaction, and teamwork.

About the Role

This is a permanent position that requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and cooking of meals, as well as managing a team of cooks and other kitchen staff.

The working environment is fast-paced, with a combination of standing, walking, and bending required throughout the day. The ideal candidate will be physically fit and able to work under pressure.

We offer a competitive salary range of $55,000 - $65,000 per year, based on experience. This is a full-time position that requires 40 hours of work per week, with opportunities for overtime.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze operating costs and make data-driven decisions to optimize menu prices and food quality.
  • Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to the team, ensuring high standards of quality and consistency.
  • Instruct cooks in food preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies, maintaining accurate inventory levels and minimizing waste.
  • Plan menus that meet quality standards and cater to diverse tastes and dietary requirements.
  • Train staff in food preparation, cooking, and handling, promoting a culture of excellence and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a chef or in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Physical stamina to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with regular standing, walking, and bending required.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meeting tight deadlines and maintaining high standards of quality and service.
