Job Summary

The North West Company is seeking a highly skilled Inventory Control Supervisor to join our team at the Winnipeg Logistics Service Centre. As a key member of our inventory management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our inventory control team, ensuring accurate and efficient inventory management practices, and providing exceptional customer service to our internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and analyze daily reports, cycle count tracking, and make adjustments as required to ensure accurate inventory levels.
  • Plan, schedule, and track attendance for payroll purposes, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Oversee and manage the inventory control team, providing guidance and support to ensure successful team performance.
  • Accountable for label negotiations, ordering, and invoicing, ensuring timely and accurate processing of inventory transactions.
  • Responsible for seasonal and sealift/winter road, last in first out (LIFO), and seasonal reports, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of inventory movements.
  • Create and review standard operating procedures (SOPs) for new and existing processes within the department, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with annual inventory reporting, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of inventory levels and movements.
  • Liaise between Congebec and NWC, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration between teams.
  • Responsible for petty cash, ATM, and banking reconciliation for the WLSC, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.
  • Maintain positive relationships with new and existing suppliers, negotiating and managing inventory contracts to ensure optimal pricing and service levels.
  • Liaise with Store Connect and assist with inventory-related issues, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of customer concerns.
  • Support the Manager, Inventory Control, with the flow of day-to-day tasks, ensuring seamless execution of inventory management processes.
Requirements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and knowledge in Access and Impromptu reporting.
  • Supervisory experience required and/or proven leadership skills with the ability to lead and develop a team for continual improvement and experience in delegating and task assignment.
  • Knowledgeable in navigating through Warehouse Management Systems or other similar programs.
  • Must possess effective communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to provide superior customer service.
  • Ability to solve problems and think critically.
  • Must be detail-conscious while demonstrating a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
  • Able to work quickly and efficiently to complete responsibilities and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Ability to deal with employee concerns in a professional and confidential manner.
