Job Title: Inventory Control Clerk

At The North West Company, we are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Inventory Control Clerk to join our team. As an Inventory Control Clerk, you will play a critical role in maintaining accurate and timely inventory results for store operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and verify Central Receiving documents to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Communicate with stores to ensure receipt of weekly receiving registers and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Analyze and adjust preliminary and stock ledger reports to reflect accurate inventory levels and investigate any irregularities.
  • Reconcile and balance store monthly stock ledger transactions to the general ledger.
  • Calculate and distribute store food and general merchandise inventory results on a quarterly, semi-annual, and annual basis.
  • Respond to store and management queries in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of related accounting experience or a combination of education and experience in a related field.
  • Previous experience in account reconciliation and data entry is preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office products, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proven organizational, planning, and prioritizing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks while adhering to strict deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to provide superior customer service.
  • Previous knowledge of store receiving and inventory procedures and systems is an asset.
  • Ability to communicate in French is an asset.
