School Nurse

The School Nurse is a vital member of the Natrona County School District team, responsible for providing healthcare services to students and supporting the educational process. As a School Nurse, you will work closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to ensure students receive the best possible care and support.
Key Responsibilities- Provide acute, chronic, and routine nursing care to students, including vision, hearing, dental, and vital sign screenings.
- Monitor, screen, and evaluate student health to identify potential health-related barriers to learning.
- Collect and document health information for students, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Act as a first responder in medical emergencies, providing emergency care and triage as needed.
- Provide student health assessments and evaluations, supporting students' ability to learn.
- Maintain student immunization records, ensuring district compliance with Wyoming Immunization Law.
- Act as a liaison between school staff, home, health, and community agencies, providing resource information and collaborative communication.
- Report suspected child abuse to Department of Family Services, facilitating student safety.
- Administer student medications, supporting student health needs as prescribed by licensed healthcare professionals.
- Possess and maintain current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse by the Wyoming State Board of Nursing.
- A current Permit or Certificate issued by the Wyoming Department of Education is preferred.
- Must possess a Baccalaureate degree (B.S.) in Nursing from an accredited four-year college or university.
