Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Communications and Public Relations to lead our internal and external communications efforts. This is a key position that will play a critical role in shaping the public image of Beacon Community Services and fostering strong relationships with our community partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Communication Strategies: Collaborate with senior leaders to develop and implement effective communication strategies that align with Beacon's mission and vision.
  • Public Relations and Media Relations: Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, and key influencers to enhance Beacon's public image.
  • Survey and Data Management: Design and implement surveys, collect feedback, and analyze data to measure the effectiveness of communication efforts, audience engagement, and community partner satisfaction.
  • Content Management: Develop and oversee the creation and distribution of engaging content across multiple platforms, including press releases, newsletters, and the Beacon website.
  • Internal Communications: Develop and implement internal communication plans and tools to ensure staff are informed and engaged with Beacon's activities and goals.
  • Brand Management: Ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all communications materials and channels by developing key messaging and brand templates.
  • Partner Engagement: Collaborate with program leaders and community partners to support program promotion and fundraising initiatives.
  • Event Coordination: Plan and execute communication strategies for special events and campaigns.
  • Crisis Communication: Lead the communication response during crises, ensuring timely and accurate information dissemination.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred. 5+ years of experience in a senior communications role.
  • Skills and Abilities: Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication, and presentation skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
