About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Animator to join our team at Sony Pictures Imageworks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create high-quality animated characters and objects that meet project requirements.
- Animate primary and secondary characters using traditional methods and computer graphics systems.
- Convey emotion through body language and facial expressions/dialogue, as required by each project.
- Meet schedules and show deadlines, participate in dailies, rounds, and team reviews of work in progress.
- Interact with production, supervisors, and team/peers to problem-solve and share information related to the show/assigned tasks.
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of the principles of animation.
- Knowledge of applicable software packages, including Maya.
- Background or experience in fine art, showing a thorough understanding of physical motion, weight, balance, and form.
- Knowledge of human and animal anatomy, as well as life drawing skills.
- Minimum 3+ years of production experience or feature film experience preferred.
What We Offer:
- Anticipated base salary: $45.34 to $58.51/hr.
- Benefits: healthcare, tuition reimbursement, RRSPs, Sick and Vacation leave, standard increases as applicable.
