Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Manager to join our team at NA Freight Forwarding Inc. As a key member of our Finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing all accounting functions and related administrative activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee day-to-day accounting functions to ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks.
  • Post and approve payments through online banking software.
  • Assist staff with questions regarding processing of daily transactions.
  • Assist with approval of payables and collection of receivables.
  • Provide direction, coaching, leadership, and performance management for accounting staff.
  • Maintain staff training standards and complete regular reviews to ensure policies and procedures are being adhered to.
  • Assist in preparing books for year-end for external accountants.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting transactions.
  • Regular review of Accounts Payable & Receivable to ensure company policies are being adhered to.
  • Analyze income statement accounts for variances and compliance with accounting policies.
  • Account reconciliations, identify issues & trends, and report to executive management.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring company processes and policies.
  • Work with Human Resources, IT, Project Managers, Accounts Payable & Receivable, and other staff and management for training, support, and exchanging information.
Requirements
  • 10+ years' experience within a variety of Accounting roles.
  • Post-Secondary education in business accounting or finance.
  • Advanced knowledge of current financial best practices and regulations.
  • 5+ years in a Management or Leadership role.
  • Experience in the Transportation, freight forwarding, and logistics industry is an asset.
