Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Delivery: Develop and deliver the secondary school international language curriculum in a virtual classroom setting, ensuring that students meet the learning objectives and outcomes.
  • Course Materials and Curriculum Content: Develop and maintain course materials and curriculum content in accordance with the Ministry of Education Curriculum document for International Languages gr. 9-12.
  • Student Progress and Evaluation: Evaluate the progress of students and discuss results with students and parents, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Classroom Management: Ensure a safe and inclusive academic environment conducive to learning in class and online, promoting positive attitudes towards language learning.
  • Professional Development: Participate in staff meetings, instructor training workshops, and other professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with best practices.
Requirements
  • Certification: Hold a current Ontario College of Teachers Certificate of Qualification.
  • Teaching Qualifications: Possess Intermediate & Senior teaching qualifications in the credit language.
  • Language Instruction Experience: Demonstrate evidence of instructing in the credit language.
  • Additional Qualifications: A certification in language instruction from an accredited College or University would be an asset.
