Part-Time Bilingual Language Instructor Needed

Are you enthusiastic about language and literature? Do you have a desire to assist students in mastering English and French?

Oxford Learning Centres, Inc. is on the lookout for part-time language instructors to join our educational team. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy engaging with students, imparting knowledge of language intricacies, and are dedicated to fostering skill development in learners.

As a language instructor at Oxford Learning, you will not need to create lesson plans, as all sessions are pre-designed. Comprehensive training in our unique educational approach will be provided.

Position Requirements

All instructors are expected to work during after-school hours (3:30 PM - 8:00 PM) and some Saturdays (10:00 AM - 3:00 PM). A commitment through the term is preferred, with summer availability being a plus. Reliability is essential for this role.

This position requires in-person attendance. Candidates must be able to travel to the designated location. Please note that this is not a remote role, and relocation assistance is not offered. A background check is required.

We invite applications from candidates who meet most of the following criteria:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Fourth-year university students with significant tutoring experience will be considered
  • Teaching certification is advantageous
  • Familiarity with the current K-12 curriculum is preferred

Experience:

  • Prior experience in teaching or tutoring at the K-12 level or equivalent
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to enhance students' comprehension
  • Capability to manage multiple students simultaneously

Responsibilities (Position Details)

In this role, you will directly interact with students as an Interactive Coach, with responsibilities including:

  • Instructing up to three students concurrently at varying proficiency levels
  • Adhering to the Oxford Learning teaching methodologies
  • Documenting post-lesson notes
  • Providing daily updates on student progress
  • Maintaining a professional and approachable demeanor at all times
