About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Worker to join our team at Yellow Brick Road Management Inc. as a key member of our facilities maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our building systems, including heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Conduct safety and security checks to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies as required to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Perform minor repairs on appliances and other equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with tradespersons to address major repairs and maintenance tasks.
Experience and Skills
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for working effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects.
Support for Newcomers and Refugees
  • Supports newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition to help them integrate into the workforce.
  • Provides diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees.
Support for Indigenous People
  • Offers mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers to support their career development.
  • Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
Working Conditions
  • Permanent full-time position.
  • 40 hours per week of work.
  • English is the primary language of communication.
