About the Role

The Food Service Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our food service team, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. This includes supervising and coordinating the activities of staff who prepare and portion food, requisitioning food and kitchen supplies, and training staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures.

In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for estimating ingredient and supply requirements for meal preparation, preparing budget and cost estimates, and maintaining records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage.

Responsibilities
  • Establish methods to meet work schedules and deadlines
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies as needed
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food
  • Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures
  • Estimate ingredient and supply requirements for meal preparation
  • Prepare budget and cost estimates
  • Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage
  • Prepare and submit reports
  • Prepare food order summaries for the chef
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts including evenings and weekends
Working Conditions

This is a dynamic and challenging role that requires a high level of energy and enthusiasm. You will be working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and will need to be able to think on your feet.

Compensation

The salary for this role is approximately $50,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience.
