Senior Practice Leader, Indigenous Health Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Practice Leader, Indigenous Health to join our team at BC Women's Hospital & Health Centre. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for promoting excellence in Indigenous health practice and quality of patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Consult with internal and external stakeholders to promote excellence in Indigenous health practice and quality of patient care.
- Develop and implement strategies to address Indigenous health disparities and improve health outcomes for Indigenous populations.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, community organizations, and government agencies to advance Indigenous health initiatives.
- Provide leadership and guidance to healthcare teams to ensure culturally safe and effective care for Indigenous patients.
- Develop and implement education programs to promote Indigenous cultural safety and humility among healthcare providers.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Nursing or related field and 5 years of experience in Indigenous health and/or public health nursing.
- Eligible for registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM) and holds current certification in CPR.
- Extensive knowledge of Indigenous health care needs, services, and issues, as well as knowledge of culture, protocols, traditions, and ideology of Indigenous people and organizations in British Columbia.
- Experience in teaching and program development.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Leadership, facilitation, and mentoring skills, as well as problem-solving skills within a complex and challenging environment.
