Job Summary
Mental Health and Substance Use Clinician - a key role in the community

The Interior Health Authority is seeking a skilled Mental Health and Substance Use Clinician to join its high-performing team. This clinician will play a vital role in addressing the complex needs of youth with problematic substance use, concurrent disorders, and mental health issues.

What You Will Do
This position involves providing advanced-level assessment, treatment, service coordination, and urgent response to clients with co-occurring disorders who require specialized care. As a member of the interdisciplinary team, you will work closely with partners across the community to deliver wrap-around services for clients. Your expertise will include Motivational Interviewing (MI) skills, group facilitation techniques, experiential education techniques, crisis intervention, and suicide risk assessment and intervention.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' mental health and substance use needs
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each client's unique circumstances
- Provide direct clinical services, including individual and group counseling sessions
- Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals and community resources to ensure seamless support for clients

Requirements
- Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., psychology, social work, nursing)
- Experience working with youth and adults with mental health and substance use challenges
- Strong understanding of substance use and its effects on adolescents and young adults
- Proficiency in Motivational Interviewing (MI) and group facilitation techniques
