Amazon Elastic Kubernetes service (EKS) is a key component of our cloud computing platform, responsible for delivering scalable and secure infrastructure to our customers.

We are seeking a highly experienced Software Engineering Leader to own a critical software team responsible for developing the next generation of EKS core infrastructure. As a member of our leadership team, you will have a significant impact on shaping the future of EKS and driving innovation in the cloud computing space.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, with 7+ years of experience working directly within engineering teams, and 3+ years of experience designing or architecting new and existing systems. They will also have a proven track record of leading teams of Software Engineers, with expertise in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching, and managing teams to improve their skills and make them more effective.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and lead a critical software team responsible for developing EKS core infrastructure
  • Develop and execute a product vision for the future of EKS
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and deliver high-quality products
  • Prioritize well, communicate clearly and compellingly, and drive a level of focus and excellence with the team
  • Partner with product or program management teams to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle
  • Experience communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership
  • A passion for cloud computing, user experience, and building simple and elegant software solutions

Estimated Salary: $175,000 - $225,000 per year
