Job Title: Church Caretaker

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Church Caretaker to join our team at Guru Nanak Niwas Society. As a Church Caretaker, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our religious facility.

Responsibilities:
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Sweep, mop, scrub, and wax hallways, floors, and stairs. Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris, and other refuse. Empty trash cans and other waste containers. Wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings.
  • Groundskeeping: Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens. Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas.
  • Support Services: Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment. Perform safety and security checks.
  • Welcoming Environment: Recruit newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster. Provide diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees.
  • Support for Mature Workers: Apply hiring policies that discourage age discrimination.

Requirements:

  • 40 hours per week
