Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Church Caretaker to join our team at Guru Nanak Niwas Society. As a Church Caretaker, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our religious facility, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for our community.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain the cleanliness of hallways, floors, and stairs through sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and waxing.
  • Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove debris and dirt.
  • Empty trash cans and other waste containers.
  • Wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings.
  • Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment.
  • Perform safety and security checks.
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens.
  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures.
  • Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas.
Support for Newcomers and Refugees
  • Recruit newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster.
  • Provide diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment.
Support for Mature Workers
  • Apply hiring policies that discourage age discrimination.
