Job Title: Church Caretaker

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Church Caretaker to join our team at Guru Nanak Niwas Society. As a Church Caretaker, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our religious facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Sweep, mop, scrub, and wax hallways, floors, and stairs. Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris, and other refuse. Empty trash cans and other waste containers.
  • Groundskeeping: Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens. Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas.
  • Facilities Management: Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment. Perform safety and security checks.
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Recruit newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster. Provide diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment.
  • Support for Mature Workers: Apply hiring policies that discourage age discrimination.
