Job Summary:

The Staff Lawyer will be responsible for providing legal advice and representation to clients, as well as participating in the development and implementation of legal programs and services. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the legal system, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal advice and representation to clients on a variety of matters, including family law, employment law, and civil litigation.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of legal programs and services, including community outreach and education.
  • Collaborate with other staff members and community organizations to provide comprehensive legal services to clients.
  • Conduct research and gather evidence to support legal cases.
  • Prepare and present legal documents and statements of legal opinion.
  • Provide public education seminars and sessions on legal topics.
Requirements:
  • Membership in a provincial or territorial law society.
  • Strong understanding of the legal system and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
