Job Title: Staff Attorney

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Staff Attorney to join our team at the Central Alberta Community Legal Clinic. As a Staff Attorney, you will play a critical role in providing legal services to our clients and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on their legal rights and matters related to law
  • Plead clients' cases before courts of law, tribunals, and boards
  • Draw up legal documents and prepare statements of legal opinion
  • Negotiate settlements of civil disputes
  • Research legal precedents and gather evidence
  • Provide public education seminars and sessions

Requirements:

  • Membership in a provincial or territorial law society
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Flexibility and ability to work as part of a team
