Rigging Operations Manager Job Description

Riggit Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rigging Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient execution of rigging operations for corporate events.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the training and development of riggers to ensure a consistent level of work is being performed.
  • Audit the performance of riggers and identify areas for improvement.
  • Work with the Arena Head Rigger to create and maintain training plans, improvements, hierarchy, recruitment, retention, and discipline of all riggers.
  • Perform quality assurance audits of rigging installations.
  • Develop and maintain a maintenance system for Riggit inventory.
  • Develop, review, and maintain rigging policies and procedures.
  • Review equipment used on corporate events and recommend changes, upgrades, replacements, or additions.
  • Audit rigging equipment to ensure adherence to Riggit's rigging standards.
  • Review design and drawings (CADD, Vectorworks, Braceworks).
  • Maintain specifications and information about all commonly used rig equipment (onsite).
  • On-site rigging and site visits for venue and gig specs.
  • Review venue rigging points/structure to identify issues.
  • Work with reps to design and implement rigging plans and inform reps of any issues or challenges arising from the work site and/or employees.
  • Liaise with reps, Mgr Rigging Ops, and Ops Mgr of any regularly used non-Riggit equipment issues.
  • Work with clients to achieve their goals in a timely and safe manner and to bring concepts to reality, both structurally and aesthetically.
  • Review and create point load plans for corporate events not handled by reps.
  • Creation of rigging plots for select events.
  • Participate in special projects.
  • Design and manage the build of custom equipment.
Qualifications:
  • ETCP certified rigger preferred.
  • 4 years minimum post-secondary training (related theatre/corporate/arena training).
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • PC and Mac user interface experience.
Terms of Employment:
  • Full-time
  • 40 hours per week
  • $49.50 per hour
