This role involves providing support in an alternate setting, collaborating on a land-based learning program for Grade 11 and 12 students. The interdisciplinary program integrates numeracy and literacy with cultural and land-based education.

Main Responsibilities
  • Be a positive role model and student advocate.
  • Encourage meaningful connections to the land, culture, and community while supporting students' academic growth and personal development.
  • Provide individual and/or small group support to Indigenous and self-identified students.
Key Deliverables and Expectations
  1. Be accountable for self, students, and teachings.
  2. Work collaboratively with the ISW team, classroom teacher, and school administration.
  3. Join students in their activities, enhancing connections and modeling the experience.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • One year of related experience with local cultural knowledge.
  • A strong ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with school administrators, teachers, and staff.
  • Motivated self-starter with good time management and strong interpersonal skills.
