About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Folk Dance Teacher to join our team at the SCHOOL OF INDIAN FOLK ARTS & TRADITION INC. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching traditional folk dances to students of all ages and skill levels.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver engaging dance classes, workshops, and performances
  • Prepare students for auditions and performances, including rehearsals and technical rehearsals
  • Teach dance techniques, artistic interpretation, and physical fitness exercises
  • Perform dances and participate in cultural events
  • Train to maintain high levels of technical proficiency and physical fitness
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in teaching or performing traditional folk dances
  • Equivalent experience in a related field
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail
  • Positive attitude, creativity, and willingness to relocate
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a concert hall or stage, cultural events, community centre, or other related settings. The role may require travel, including international travel.
