About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Folk Dance Instructor to join our team at the School of Indian Folk Arts & Tradition Inc. As a key member of our educational staff, you will be responsible for teaching traditional folk dances to students of all ages and skill levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Instruction: Develop and deliver engaging and informative dance classes, workshops, and performances that showcase the beauty and richness of traditional folk dances.
  • Student Development: Provide individualized instruction and feedback to students, helping them to improve their technique, artistry, and overall performance quality.
  • Curriculum Development: Collaborate with our educational team to design and implement new dance programs, workshops, and performances that align with our organization's mission and goals.
  • Community Engagement: Participate in outreach and community engagement activities, promoting the importance of traditional folk arts and culture.
  • Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in traditional folk dance education, attending workshops, conferences, and other professional development opportunities as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in teaching traditional folk dances or a related field.
  • Skills: Excellent teaching and communication skills, strong knowledge of traditional folk dances, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment
