About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Folk Dance Instructor to join our team at the School of Indian Folk Arts & Tradition Inc. As a key member of our educational staff, you will be responsible for teaching traditional folk dances to students of all ages and skill levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Instruction
    • Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities
    • Provide individualized instruction and feedback to students
    • Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods as needed
  • Curriculum Development
    • Contribute to the development of new dance programs and curriculum
    • Research and incorporate new techniques and styles into existing programs
  • Community Engagement
    • Collaborate with community organizations and cultural institutions to promote traditional folk arts
    • Develop and lead workshops and performances that showcase traditional folk dances
  • Administrative Tasks
    • Manage student records and attendance
    • Assist with event planning and coordination
Requirements
  • Education
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience
    • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in teaching or dance instruction
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Strong knowledge of traditional folk dances and cultural practices
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances
