Job Summary

The Manitoba Government seeks a seasoned Social Services Program Manager to lead its social service delivery team. As a key member of the organization, this individual will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and guidance in policy interpretation, case management, program recommendations, operational planning, and financial management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in human resource management, with experience in supervising a service delivery team and managing administration of programs. Additionally, they will possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize information, make recommendations, and decisions. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain respectful relationships with diverse external and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and support in management and supervisory activities associated with policy interpretation, case management, program recommendations, operational planning, and financial management. • Deliver crisis management, intervention, and issue resolution in the provision of supports and services. • Provide knowledge and direction for crisis management, intervention, and issue resolution in the provision of supports and services. • Manage and supervise a team of social service professionals, providing guidance and support in their daily work. • Collaborate with regional directors to develop and implement policies and procedures that align with the organization's goals and objectives.

Requirements

• Post-secondary degree in Social Sciences (BSW preferred) or equivalent experience. • Minimum 3 years of experience in human resource management and leadership, with a strong background in social services. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize information, make recommendations, and decisions. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to develop and maintain respectful relationships with diverse external and internal stakeholders. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
