Job Summary

The Hospital Float Team is a dynamic staffing model that brings together experienced Registered Nurses (RNs), Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs), Personal Support Workers (PSWs), and Clerks to provide comprehensive support to nursing units and departments within Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital (OSMH).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care and support to nursing units and departments
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless care delivery
  • Participate in on-call rotations and be available for all shifts
  • Meet the physical and emotional demands of the job, including lifting and moving patients
  • Develop and maintain excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Requirements
  • Current certificate of competence to practice as a R.P.N. in Ontario
  • Successful completion of a Physical Assessment course, Medication Administration course, and Aseptic Principles certificate
  • Demonstrated ability to work at full Scope of Practice
  • A minimum of two (2) years recent experience in an acute care setting and/or LTC setting
  • Minimum of one (1) year medical/surgical experience within the past five (5) years, working at full scope
  • Preference given to candidates with recent experience caring for Renal patients
