Program Mentor Lead Opportunity at York University

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Mentor Lead to support the planning and delivery of STEM programming for students in Kindergarten to Grade 12 at the K2I Academy in the Lassonde School of Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and deliver hands-on STEM activities and programming
  • Facilitate STEM research project activities
  • Provide high-quality mentorship and support to Program Mentors
  • Lead support to Program Mentors in k2i academy's Bringing STEM to Life: Work-Integrated Learning programs
Requirements:
  • Current or recent undergraduate student
  • Preference given to students in undergraduate science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) programs of study
  • Experience working with youth
  • Previous experience working in a research lab is an asset
Skills:
  • Ability to understand and demonstrate instructions, policies, and procedures
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and motivate others towards learning new knowledge
  • Ability to provide instruction and support others in developing knowledge or skills
  • Ability to demonstrate responsible, ethical, and professional conduct
  • Ability to verbally communicate with others to explain and share information

Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google G Suite.
