We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Treasure Mills Inc. as a Production Supervisor. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards are met in our food processing and manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the execution of production schedules to ensure timely and efficient production of safe and high-quality food products.
- Set and communicate job expectations to hourly employees, plan training, monitor, appraise job results, coach, and initiate employee discipline as needed.
- Proactively maintain safety rules, conduct safety meetings, educate employees on safety protocols, and improve safety awareness throughout the organization.
- Schedule equipment and personnel to meet production requirements and targets.
- Adhere to product specification requirements throughout the manufacturing process to maintain desired product quality results.
- Suggest changes in work flow processes and equipment usage to increase efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports to monitor production targets, financial efficiency, on-time delivery, continuous improvement efforts, and manufacturing issues.
- Perform setup, operation, and cleanup of line equipment.
- Collaborate with the maintenance department to prevent and rectify equipment breakdowns.
- Work with the Quality department to prevent and resolve quality issues and conduct root cause analysis.
- Adhere to plant policies and procedures, including SQF, HACCP, and GMP.
- Lead the production team to ensure quantitative and qualitative measures are met, including standard costs, cost reductions, productivity, health and safety, GMP, sanitation, customer satisfaction, and minimal re-work.
- Promote a focus on excellence in all production activities, including quality, yield, and cost containment.
- Work closely with senior management to develop and enforce company quality, health & safety, and productivity goals.
- Minimize scrap and maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Conduct labor tracking and production orders, demonstrating accountability for operator productivity.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in food processing or manufacturing, with bakery experience preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards, SQF, HACCP, and GMP.
- Degree or Diploma in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, Science, or related areas of focus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Microsoft Office knowledge required.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, time-management, and leadership skills.
- Must be a strong leader and passionate about quality and food safety.
- Forklift license and experience considered an asset.
- Ability to lift/push/pull 30 pounds.
- Ability to stand for lengthy periods.
- Flexibility with work hours and ability to work different shifts with overtime and weekends as needed.
