Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Psychiatrist to join our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide specialized community-based treatment and rehabilitation services to individuals with complex mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments and treatment plans for clients with complex mental health needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Conduct regular home visits and outreach to clients in their communities, including private residences, shelters, and public areas.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, and peer specialists, to provide comprehensive care.
- Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to the development of treatment plans and strategies.
- Provisional or unrestricted license to practice medicine from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC (CPSBC).
- Eligibility or active fellowship in psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC).
- Eligibility or current appointment as clinical faculty with University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine.
- Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) membership.
- Experience working with complex mental health populations and familiarity with principles of community psychiatry.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
