Job Summary:
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Psychiatrist to join our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide specialized care to clients with complex mental health needs and high levels of comorbidity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support clients in the community through outreach and engagement, working independently and collaboratively with clinical colleagues in various settings.
- Partner with a diverse team of healthcare professionals, including nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, and peer specialists, to provide high-quality care.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, taking into account the unique needs and circumstances of each client.
- Collaborate with law enforcement and other community agencies to ensure seamless care coordination.
Requirements:
- Provisional or unrestricted license to practice medicine from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC (CPSBC).
- Eligibility or active fellowship in psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC).
- Eligibility or current appointment as clinical faculty with University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine.
- Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) membership.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with complex cases or supporting vulnerable populations.
- Familiarity with principles of Community Psychiatry and a passion for patient welfare.
- Understanding of the importance of delivering high-quality care in complex healthcare systems and a commitment to teamwork.
