Job Title: Asphalt Raker

We are seeking a skilled Asphalt Raker to join our team at Golderado Contracting Corp. As an Asphalt Raker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of our road construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess road conditions and job requirements to ensure efficient and safe construction processes.
  • Operate an asphalt rake to spread and level asphalt materials, maintaining a good pace and quality of work.
  • Shovel excess asphalt and sweep up debris to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Verify and set the angle and depth of the asphalt screed as required, ensuring accurate and precise measurements.
  • Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment and movement of materials, promoting a safe and efficient workflow.
  • Perform other road construction and labor duties as assigned by supervisor, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in heavy construction, with a focus on road construction and asphalt paving.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience as an Asphalt Raker, with a proven track record of quality work and safety.
  • Knowledge of construction methods and road construction materials, including asphalt and concrete.
  • Physical ability to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis, with the ability to work in warm conditions for prolonged periods.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License and reliable means of transportation.
  • Proficient English language skills and ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
