About the Role

Golderado Contracting Corp is seeking a skilled Asphalt Raker to join our team of heavy construction specialists. As an Asphalt Raker, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of our road construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess Road Conditions: Evaluate road surfaces to determine the best course of action for asphalt raking.
  • Asphalt Raking: Spread asphalt using efficient techniques and maintain a good pace to ensure a smooth finish.
  • Material Handling: Shovel excess asphalt and sweep up debris to maintain a clean work environment.
  • Quality Control: Verify the proper match points and limits of asphalt mix adjacent to concrete structures, manholes, water valves, and other fixtures within the road surface.
  • Equipment Operation: Assist the screed operator with even distribution of asphalt materials over the road surface and signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment and movement of materials.
  • Physical Demands: Physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis and work in warm conditions for prolonged periods.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in heavy construction and 1-2 years of experience as an asphalt raker.
  • Training: Completion of Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS 09 or 2020), WHMIS 2015, and ground disturbance 201.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • License: Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
  • Language: Proficient English language skills required.
