Environmental Services Manager Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Services Manager to join our team at Southbridge Care Homes. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of our facilities, ensuring a safe and clean environment for our residents and staff.

Daily Routine Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs to ensure the facility remains in good condition.
  • Document and implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment.
  • Oversee the housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance departments to ensure high standards of cleanliness and sanitation are maintained.
  • Manage the budget and inventory of the department, ensuring that all necessary supplies and equipment are available when needed.
Management Responsibilities:
  • Support the Executive Director in the hiring and performance management of departmental staff.
  • Supervise contractors' work to ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled.
  • Prepare and manage departmental budgets, ensuring that all expenses are accounted for and approved.
  • Participate in leadership team activities and responsibilities, including participation on teams and committees.

Requirements:

  • Two-year post-secondary diploma or degree in Environmental Services/Building Services Management or related field.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, and heating and ventilation systems.
  • Experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
