About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Sustainability Consultant to join our Climate Change and Sustainability team in Canada. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to growing our services in this sector, addressing the risks associated with climate change.

As a key member of our CC&S team, you will work closely with clients across North America, providing expert advice on climate resilience, carbon mitigation, and sustainability projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and directing climate-related projects for public and private sector clients, focusing on GHG inventories, embodied carbon assessments, climate risk assessments, adaptation planning, and Net Zero planning.
  • Providing account leadership on Canadian key accounts, ensuring opportunities are delivered on schedule and budget while providing a focused client-centric experience.
  • Exercising leadership and initiative in support of the Canadian CC&S team, identifying and pursuing opportunities to grow our pipeline of work.
  • Participating in the wider global community of advisory and climate change consultants within Mott MacDonald, collaborating with colleagues across Regions.
  • Mentoring and coaching junior colleagues to build their capabilities and commercial awareness.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A post-secondary degree and 12+ years of career experience related to engineering and/or infrastructure development.
  • Solid commercial understanding and the ability to operate within a dynamic commercial environment.
  • Significant experience in the design, implementation, and management of projects in the field of transportation infrastructure, including proposal writing for various audiences.
  • Demonstrated business development experience, with a track record of growing a business and securing CC&S projects.
  • Familiarity with project management principles and processes, including budgeting and managing contractual obligations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience working within a team environment.
  • Line managing junior staff and providing oversight and mentorship.

We are looking for an individual with excellent written and presentation skills, able to work independently and unsupervised, and keen to grow client relationships and expand existing mandates. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for sustainability and climate change, with a proven ability to deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.

Salary Estimate
