Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Guard to join our team at a remote mining site in Northern British Columbia. As a Security Guard, you will be responsible for providing security services to the site, including ensuring adherence to site rules, site access, vehicle searches, foot and mobile patrolling, lodge security, assistance with emergency response, and security of the mine area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to guests, colleagues, and site workers
  • Manage access control and intrusion detection at the site
  • Monitor site activities, detect suspicious occurrences, and provide detailed written incident reports
  • Conduct mobile and foot patrols of assigned areas
  • Record daily activities, complete access and administrative forms, and issue or check security badges
  • Monitor access control, intrusion detection, and video surveillance systems
  • Dispatch emergency responses and communicate with team members via radio
Requirements
  • Valid British Columbia Security License
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License and acceptable Driver's Abstract
  • Valid CPR & AED certification (an asset)
  • 1 year of mining or oil/gas experience (an asset)
  • Exceptional written and spoken English communication skills
  • Ability to work day and night shifts, indoors or outdoors as required
  • Pass a Drug and Alcohol Test (SSRG will arrange)
  • Pass a criminal record check
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including many stairs
  • Ability to work in cold and hot weather conditions

  • 12-hour shift
  • $22.00/hour (plus overtime)

  • Travel to and from site provided from marshalling points located in various locations
