Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at the Catholic Independent Schools of the Nelson Diocese. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and engaging environment for young children, promoting their social, emotional, and cognitive development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement age-appropriate activities and programs to foster children's learning and growth
  • Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, and inclusive environment that promotes children's well-being and sense of belonging
  • Collaborate with colleagues and families to ensure seamless communication and support
  • Monitor and report on children's progress, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies for growth
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices and industry standards
Requirements
  • Commitment to Catholic education and values
  • Training and experience in early childhood education, preferably with a focus on child development and learning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, and colleagues
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing program needs and priorities
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with children in a group setting, preferably in a childcare or educational environment
  • Knowledge of child development theories and practices, with a focus on promoting social, emotional, and cognitive growth
  • Ability to use discretion when dealing with confidential matters, such as child welfare and family information
