Role and Responsibilities
CAE is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Project Planner. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for controlling the progress of our project portfolio, identifying and optimizing critical paths, and leading proactive actions with key players to ensure the overall viability of our plans.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Planning and aligning signals throughout the supply chain based on the S&OP for the entire project portfolio.
- Understanding the interdependencies within the manufacturing environment and those with other groups.
- Identifying and optimizing critical project paths to ensure adherence to the overall production plan while respecting costs and schedule.
- Ensuring adherence to the master plan to maintain an appropriate status report for all projects, from initial order to delivery to the end customer.
- Collaborating with Hardware Design Lead, Operational Project Manager, Production Planner, Production Cell Leader, Union Leader, and Supply Chain Business Partner using a proactive approach based on data to develop and implement solutions.
- Actioning engineering changes and collaborating to mitigate the impact on the project.
- Leading the synchronization and optimization of information flow and material flow with the Production Cell Leader and Union Leader.
- Aligning with the Production Cell Leader to identify and understand evolutive capacity and bottlenecks to plan execution accordingly.
- Being a reference for the operations team (SME) for planning tools, processes, and best practices.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- A Bachelor's degree, ideally in engineering or administration.
- At least three to five years of relevant experience or training in the field.
- Good analytical skills.
- Teamwork-oriented and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and within schedule.
- Ability to effectively communicate with management, colleagues, and internal customers.
- Ability to answer questions and present information to various stakeholders in the process (Manager, Group Leader, Project Manager, Planners).
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with an ERP system, preferably Oracle.
- Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and meet imposed deadlines autonomously.
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to define problems, gather information, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to understand different assembly sequences and identify critical paths.
- Ability to generate reports using databases (SQL, VBA, Power Query Language M, Power BI), not required but definitely a plus.
- Bilingualism in both French and English is required.
