Job Summary

Halton Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician Candidate to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician Candidate, you will play a critical role in supporting the operation of our pharmacy automation systems and ensuring the accurate and efficient dispensing of medications to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain pharmacy automation systems, including Omnicell automated dispensing units, to ensure seamless medication dispensing and inventory management.
  • Restock and replenish medication inventory, including controlled substances, to ensure adequate supply levels.
  • Prepare and package unit doses and sterile pharmaceutical products for patient use.
  • Assist in the management of pharmacy inventory, including ordering and receiving supplies.
  • Collaborate with pharmacy staff to ensure accurate and timely medication dispensing and patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Completion of a recognized college-level Pharmacy Technician program.
  • Pursuing registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP).
  • Previous hospital experience and experience operating pharmacy automation systems an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Physical stamina to meet the demands of the position.
