Job Summary

Halton Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician Candidate to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician Candidate, you will play a vital role in supporting the operation of our pharmacy automation systems and ensuring the accurate and efficient dispensing of medications to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain pharmacy automation systems, including the Omnicell automated dispensing units, to ensure seamless medication dispensing and inventory management.
  • Restock and replenish medication inventory, including controlled substances, to ensure adequate supply levels.
  • Prepare and package unit doses and sterile pharmaceutical products for patient use.
  • Assist in the distribution and control of narcotics and other controlled substances.
  • Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with pharmacy staff to resolve medication-related issues and improve patient care.
Requirements
  • Completion of a recognized college-level Pharmacy Technician program.
  • Pursuing registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP).
  • Previous hospital experience and experience operating pharmacy automation systems are preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Physical stamina to meet the demands of the position.
