Job Description

Position Job Title: Career Program Assistant

Location: Vancouver, BC (Hybrid)

Reports To : Associate Director, Career Development Centre

Application Requirement: Cover Letter

Primary Purpose

The Career Program Assistant provides operational and administrative support to the Career Development Centre team, performing a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the program. This includes maintaining program reports and documents, acting as the main contact person during team members' absences, and assisting with information management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date records and reports.
  • Provides exceptional customer service to students, faculty, and staff.
  • Assists with the coordination of workshops and events, including logistics and communication.
  • Develops and maintains an efficient filing system and database management.
  • Supports the team with data entry, document preparation, and editing.
  • Coordinates the proofreading and editing of documents.
  • Enters program-related information and generates reports as required.
  • Assists with the coordination of graduate practicum programs and work-integrated learning initiatives.
  • Provides support to stakeholders, including students, faculty, and staff.
  • Works collaboratively with the CDC Administrative Assistant to coordinate work activities and meet deadlines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field.
  • One to three years of experience in education or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to create and manage documents and electronic filing systems.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Advanced English skills with written skills at a formal university level.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Adaptability and change management skills.
  • Advanced computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft applications.
