About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Safety Specialist to join our team at BC Hydro. As a key member of our safety team, you will play a critical role in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our employees and contractors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to minimize risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement training programs on safety protocols and procedures.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Requirements
  • College/CEGEP degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in occupational safety and health technology/technician.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
