Data Analyst Summer Intern

This 4-month student summer placement is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data analysis and risk management. As a Data Analyst Summer Intern, you will be working within the Group Risk Management team at the Royal Bank of Canada.
About the RoleThe ideal candidate will have strong quantitative skills, with the ability to work independently and take initiative. They will also possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be confident in their ability to drive change and provide solutions.
- Analyze, report, and validate data using various tools and software.
- Prepare presentations and data visualizations to communicate insights and findings.
- Demonstrate existing knowledge and broaden experience in areas such as financial modeling, Python, SAS, SQL, and Tableau.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Masters-level education or relevant work experience (3-7 years).
- Strong quantitative skills, including proficiency in Excel, Python, and other data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
- A proven track record of success in leadership roles, either academically, professionally, or through community involvement.
Prior experience with advanced technical skills such as financial modeling, project management, storyboarding, and designations like CFA or FRM are highly valued in the GRM Group.
