Royal Bank of Canada is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Analyst Summer Intern to join our team in Toronto, Canada.

Job Description

We are looking for an individual who is currently enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus in finance, accounting, business, commerce or a related discipline. As a Financial Analyst Summer Intern, you will support the operational activities of our Wholesale Finance Control teams in month-end and quarter-end financial reporting processes through journal entry booking and disclosure template submissions.

Your responsibilities will include providing meaningful analysis of financial results to ensure accurate external reporting, including MD&A, B/S, P&L, Note disclosures, regulatory reporting & supplemental formats. You will also participate in the monthly review process to ensure financial controls are in place and the appropriate reconciliations are completed.

You will have the opportunity to identify opportunities to improve and streamline current processes and participate in other ad-hoc projects as directed by your reporting manager.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus in finance, accounting, business, commerce or a related discipline;
  • Currently enrolled in a recognized co-op program and eligible to complete a work term from September 2024 to April 2025 or otherwise available to work during the same period;
  • Excellent MS Office skills – Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Leadership acumen and a passion to apply it in a dynamic business environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written).
Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications are preferred but not required:

  • Previous experience working at RBC or in a financial environment;
  • Experience or understanding of financial analysis and financial reporting;
  • Full-time coop term is preferable.
