Summer Financial Analyst for Progressive Banking Finance

At Royal Bank of Canada, we are looking for a highly motivated and analytical individual to join our team as a Summer Financial Analyst. This exciting role is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in financial analysis, reporting, and automation.

Salary: The estimated salary for this position is $55,000 per year, based on the location and industry standards.

About the Role:

We are seeking a talented individual with a strong academic background in accounting, finance, or a related field. As a Summer Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for participating in financial research, analysis, and accounting assessments. You will also assist the team in data gathering for regulatory reporting requirements and weekly analysis of general ledger transactions.

In addition, you will assist in streamlining monthly reporting reconciliation results, participate in review of quarterly disclosures, and engage in variance analysis for balance sheet and profit and loss reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Analysis: Participate in research, analysis, and accounting assessments of financial products impacting profit and loss and balance sheet results.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in streamlining monthly reporting reconciliation results and participate in review of quarterly disclosures.
  • Automation: Analyze, improve, and document existing and new processes.
  • Projects & Initiatives: Participate in review of new projects, initiatives, and accounting guidance.

Requirements:

  • Pursuit of a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Financial Risk Management with a focus on accounting, financial analysis, or corporate finance.
  • Self-motivated and independent worker with a solutions-driven mindset.
  • Team player who can adapt easily and work well in both virtual and office environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
