Job Title: Financial Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Manager to join our team at the City of Charlottetown. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for leading the financial planning and analysis function, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, and providing strategic financial guidance to senior management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement financial plans and budgets to achieve organizational goals
  • Lead the financial analysis and reporting function, providing insights and recommendations to senior management
  • Manage and oversee the financial operations team, ensuring effective financial processes and controls
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify and implement cost-saving initiatives
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors and financial institutions
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in a municipal government setting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior management and external stakeholders
  • Proficiency in MS Great Plains (GP) and MS Office
