Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care in accordance with clinical practice standards and regional policies. You will work collaboratively with an interprofessional team to provide comprehensive care and make clinical practice decisions. As a Charge Nurse, you will have the authority to delegate duties to other healthcare workers and assume charge responsibilities for a unit(s).

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and deliver patient care in accordance with clinical practice standards and regional policies
  • Work collaboratively with an interprofessional team to provide comprehensive care
  • Make clinical practice decisions and delegate duties to other healthcare workers
  • Assume charge responsibilities for a unit(s) and coordinate care on the unit
  • Plan and coordinate discharge services with other agencies
  • Use resources prudently and effectively
  • Give direction to and supervise the activities of others
Qualifications and Skills
  • Current active practicing registration with College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM)
  • Current certification from a recognized Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider
  • Acute Care of at-Risk Newborns (ACORN) course or acceptable equivalent
  • Fetal Health Surveillance
  • Intrapartum Nursing
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Two (2) years recent experience in applicable department/unit/program
  • Working knowledge of Windows based programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet
