The Heavy Duty Mechanic - Intermodal position at CN offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment where you can continually learn and build a career. As a skilled tradesperson, you will be responsible for performing major and minor repairs, overhauls, and servicing on all types of vehicles, vehicle attachments, and material handling equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect, service, and maintain intermodal cranes, terminal tractors, vehicles, and equipment, in accordance with federal and company regulations.
  • D diagnose diesel/gas engine, electrical, hydraulic, driveline malfunctions, and make required repairs.
  • Use electric and oxy-acetylene welding equipment, lubrication equipment, and other vehicle repair tools and equipment, and operate said tools and machinery in a safe and effective manner.

This is a challenging role that requires the ability to work irregular shifts, including evenings, midnights, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime. You must also be able to work inside the shop and outside in all weather conditions, up to heights of 60 feet.

We offer competitive compensation for this role, with an estimated salary range of $65,000-$90,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to your base salary, you will receive paid training and opportunities for professional development.
