Early Childhood Educator

At Compass Early Learning and Care, we are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team as a Home-Based Child Care Provider. As a Home Child Care (HCC) Provider, you will have the opportunity to create a nurturing and engaging environment for young children, promoting their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and implement play-based experiences that cater to children's interests and needs.
- Observe and document children's learning and development, using this information to inform your practice.
- Build strong relationships with families, involving them in their child's learning process and keeping them informed about their child's progress.
- Work collaboratively with other Providers, Families, Community Partners, and Children to create a supportive and inclusive environment.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children by being aware of their diverse needs, backgrounds, and creating equitable opportunities for all children to engage.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment, ensuring the safety and cleanliness of all equipment, furniture, and materials.
- Engage in ongoing professional learning to stay up-to-date with best practices in early childhood education.
- Access to a suitable operational space for up to 6 children (including play, meals, sleep, and outdoor areas).
- Experience working with young children.
- Ability to show warmth, sincerity, and genuine interest when working with children.
- Ownership or rental of a home or apartment that meets the requirements for a Home Child Care business.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong behavior guidance skills, including problem-solving, positive reinforcement, and redirection strategies.
- A valid and accredited Standard First Aid/CPR Level C certificate.
- Updated immunization records (or a signed and notarized refusal of affidavit or medical exemption).
- A current Police Vulnerable Sector Check (not more than three months old).
- An active Food Handler's Certificate.
